Huawei Egypt and Egyptian government officials have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on ICT projects. This MoU was signed by President Mohamed El-Sisi and Huawei’s CEO Vincent Sun. The two sides agreed to further develop cooperation on ICT projects in the future. They will also continue to strengthen the relationship between the two nations. The MoU will facilitate cooperation on various mega-projects. The first project to be implemented by Huawei is the development of a smart grid for Egypt’s electricity sector.

As part of the partnership, Huawei will train Egyptian students and universities in the latest technologies. The partnership will also involve joint research between the two companies. In addition, Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education is working with Huawei to improve the quality of education in the country.
